LADAPT, association for the social and professional inclusion of People with Disabilities
LADAPT is a French association declared of public utility which works, through the actions of its administrators, volunteers and professionals, at developing the autonomy of action of persons with disabilities received in institutions and services (health, information, career guidance, schooling, vocational training, sheltered environments, support). This represents 100 institutions, spread over the French territory, receiving 15000 persons. All of these institutions are engaged in a quality approach, either concerning the health or the medical social sector. These procedures also apply to every activity under common right that we further develop.
LADAPT's commitment resides in the acknowledgement of diversity and in the continuous and tenacious actions of its members (2500 employees, 350 volunteers), in order to involve all the layers of society against discrimination towards the persons with disabilities. Our strength lies in the following principles : the full acknowledgement of citizenship in the City, at school and at work, an active solidarity within society, a responsible independance, the freedom of choice, the innovation and the liberty of action to answer the needs of persons with disabilities.
LADAPT's framework of reference is the international Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, its inherent components and principles. Furthemore, LADAPT's DNA is deeply marked by Europe. From 1996 to 2006, it participated, contributed, promoted and coordinated transnational projects (Horizon, Equal) which deeply transformed our service offering towards persons with disabilities.
The collaboration between European partners, knowledge exchange, dissemination, all of these have allowed us to develop an approach and a suitable offer for persons with cerebral damage, young people with disabilities, persons with mental disorders... Likewise, it is within a European program that LADAPT could implement open distance formations (FOAD), a flexible offer benefitting the disabled persons that we help.
